MacLean 2003 Napa Valley Cabernet
The 2003 blend is 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc and 4% Merlot. The Cabernet Sauvignon originates from the Anselmo Vineyard (same source as the 2001 and 2002), the Cabernet Franc comes from Oakville and the Merlot comes from Stag’s Leap. MacLean 2005Sauvignon Blanc
The 2005 Sauvignon Blanc is unique because it is created entirely from the dry-farmed, bench-land vineyard that has dominated the two previous MacLean SB’s. This 1 ½-acre vineyard is 27 years old and very low yielding at 3 tons per acre. The vines must send their roots down into the loamy soil to a dept of perhaps 30 feet to find water. This wine has significant structure, with mineral, pear, green apple and floral aromas and flavors. 371 cases produced
