The 2005 Sauvignon Blanc is unique because it is created entirely from the dry-farmed, bench-land vineyard that has dominated the two previous MacLean SB’s. This 1 ½-acre vineyard is 27 years old and very low yielding at 3 tons per acre. The vines must send their roots down into the loamy soil to a dept of perhaps 30 feet to find water. This wine has significant structure, with mineral, pear, green apple and floral aromas and flavors.
